These are my favourite winter garden and walking socks. Made from fine mohair mixed with a little nylon for stretch, these calf-length ribbed socks are extremely warm and comfortable, with cushioned soles and reinforced toes and heels. Mohair is known as the diamond fibre for its lustre, strength and durability, and unlike sheep’s wool, the fibres are smooth and therefore not itchy to wear next to your skin. They are also allegedly great for foot hygiene! This mohair comes from a herd of happy angora goats in Devon, and the socks are made in Leicestershire. They are machine-washable at 40C and keep their shape and thickness for many washes.
