about me

Clare Foster

I am the Garden Editor at House & Garden UK, and have been a garden writer for nearly 20 years, having started my career at Gardens Illustrated magazine. My job involves visiting beautiful gardens, meeting garden designers and researching plants and products, and as a result I’m lucky enough to have a wealth of ideas at my fingertips. I garden as much as time allows and am developing a new cottage garden in Berkshire. My books include Compost (Cassell, 2002), Your Allotment (Cassell, 2007), Painterly Plants (Merrell, 2012) and The Flower Garden: How to Grow Flowers from Seed (to be published spring 2019).
